Learn how to plan your garden and keep good records to save seeds true to type. We'll introduce a glossary of seed saving terms and discuss the basics of genetics and pollination. Seed processing techniques will be demonstrated. No experience saving seeds is required and you will leave this class with the knowledge to be a beginner seed saver. Bring unprocessed seed from your own garden for a seed processing practicum immediately following the class.
This class is part of a series of monthly rural skills classes sponsored by Agrariana. Upcoming classes include canning, cover cropping, and compost tea. Stay tuned as this program develops.
