A teach-in with John Jeavons – 9/13/07

This meeting celebrated the launch of the “Greening Campus Cuisine Initiative” (GCCI pronounced ‘geekie’) a project of SAFE, STEAM and the CSSC. Featuring a talk by esteemed bio-intensive pioneer, John Jeavons author of How to Grow More Vegetables, now in its 6th edition, as he shares is latest research on low-energy agriculture. Other speakers include Tim Galarno, food systems activist at UC Santa Cruz, and Grace Voorheis of CAN ( Community Agroecology Network)- students can expect to learn about double digging, campus greening, and the national movement in institutional purchasing.
